Simply complicated

What's there inside a girl's heart? Apparently, this answered and oft-asked question forms the crux of Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, a film by debutant Balaji Mohan, with Siddharth and Amala Paul playing the lead roles.

This maiden production venture of Siddharth (in association with Nirav Shah and Y Not Studios) is a cute, romantic, hilarious entertainer, which makes us to sit back, relax and enjoy from scene one till the end.

Balaji Mohan's strong script deserves a special mention, for it grabs our attention and holds it till we leave the cinema hall. Add Siddharth's performance, Amala's expressions, Nirav Shah's cinematography and Thaman's music to it, the end-product emerges a clear winner.

Arun (Siddharth) and Parvathi (Amala Paul) are college-mates and friends. As days go, both fall for each other. But their relationship doesn't long too long, as difference of opinion crops up between the two in petty issues.

The quarrel becomes big and at one point of time, Arun and Parvathi part ways. In the meantime, Parvathi's parents go to court, seeking for divorce. Arun, who by this time decides he can't lead a life without Parvathi, tries for a patch-up. What's next.

Even almost a decade after he played a college student in Boys, Siddharth is still believable when he does a similar role here. But his performance shows his experience as an actor. Amala Paul finally gets a role that suits her age and deliver goods.

There are a long list of actors, including Suresh, Ravi Raghavender, Balaji, Shyam, Arjun, Surekha Vani and Sivaranjani, who have played their respective roles very well.

As said already, Thaman's music and Nirva Shah's cinematography give us extra reasons to watch Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi. Despite some lag in the second half, Balaji Mohan passes out in flying colours in his debut directorial venture. And Siddharth should be commended for backing this product.
